Bingo Craft Ideas

Create bingo cards to use in a game or use cards in craft projects.

The game of bingo started at a county fair in Atlanta, Georgia. Edwin S. Lowe, a New York toy salesman, visited the fair, played the game and brought the idea home to introduce it to his friends, eventually producing the game for the public. Today, bingo games can be purchased, but you can also easily create and personalize your own bingo game. A bingo craft can keep guests busy at a birthday party or used to occupy kids on a rainy day. Bingo cards can also be used to create other, decorative craft items.

Party Bingo Crafts

Create bingo cards to match a theme for a birthday or other party. Make the craft ahead of time for guests to enjoy or allow party guests to create their own bingo cards. Provide paper, markers, rulers and stickers in the party theme. Allow guests to create their own cards and then play a game of bingo using themed items as chips. For instance, use animal stickers to create an animal-themed bingo card and then provide animal cookies for players to use as markers.

Bingo Bags

Turn an ordinary tote into a bingo bag in a few easy steps. Cut out pockets of complementary fabric. Sew them into the interior or exterior of the tote. The pockets can be used to hold bingo daubers, loose change or bingo chips. Create bingo bags out of your favorite fabric by sewing your own and following a pattern.

Bingo Crafts

Use old bingo cards to create other craft items. Use the cards as scrapbook embellishments or to decorate the front of a greeting card. Drill small holes into wood or plastic bingo chips and use them as beads to create a necklace. Or glue the colorful plastic chips to the outside of a plastic jar to create a pencil holder. Use the daubers to color or draw on paper or to make a greeting card for a favorite bingo player.

Other Bingo Craft Ideas

Add googly eyes, yarn hair and a pom pom nose to a bingo ball to create a little creature. Stack two bingo balls held together with glue and create a snowman ornament to give as a gift to your favorite bingo player. Use felt to create a nose, eyes and mouth. Wrap a piece of fabric around the snowman's neck to serve as a scarf. Also consider using old bingo cards as the cover of a journal. Sew paper between two bingo cards.
