Fun Party Trivia Games

Fun Party Trivia Games

Trivia games are popular activities at parties and usually involve questions on subjects such as history, science or popular culture. Depending on the game, anywhere from two to several people can compete against one another. These games generally have between several hundred and several thousand questions so that many games are played without repeats. The games are presented as board games, computer games and card games.

Trivial Pursuit

Trivial Pursuit is the iconic trivia game in which players navigate around the board trying to answer a question from each subject category and earn a token in the shape of a pie wedge. Subjects include geography, arts and literature, sports, science and nature and history. The first player to win a token for each category and then answer one final question once landing in the middle of the board is the winner. There are other editions of Trivial Pursuit, including one for children, a 20th Century Edition, a sports edition, and pop culture editions.

You Don't Know Jack

You Don't Know Jack is a multi-player trivia game played on the computer. The game resembles trivia game shows such as Jeopardy but is more fast paced. The software features a sarcastic and witty host that asks questions on various subjects. The material is sometimes mature and each game is different in both questions and script. You Don't Know Jack makes for a hilarious party game as players answer trivia and try to outdo each other. There are several editions available on the developer's web site.

Mental Floss

Mental Floss is a trivia game developed in conjunction with Mental Floss Magazine. Players roll the dice and move their token around a board. The space landed on determines the type of question they are asked, including right brain, left brain and big fat lie questions. The big fat lie questions have players pick out the lie from two questionable facts. Players also use mental block cards to get another chance at any questions they miss.

Wit's End

Wit's End is a game for two to six players. The game offers trivia questions of many types including brain teaser riddles, pick the item that does not belong, put the items in sequence, and wild card questions. The game has 1,600 questions involving science, geography, art and popular culture. The game is appropriate for ages 16 to adult, but there is a junior version available for children.

American Trivia

American Trivia is a board game based around the United States of America. The question categories include history, geography and general questions. The game includes over 1,080 questions and up to six can play. American Trivia is appropriate for ages nine and above and there is a junior version available for younger children.
