Bingo Card Rules
Bingo is a popular group game played at parties and halls. It has been around for years, bringing young and old together alike. It is a very easy game to learn and play. Continue reading to learn about the rules and possible strategies of playing bingo.
Begining the Game
Players will take one or more cards. You will also have playing pieces to cover the numbers on your card. The announcer (the one who will draw the number balls) will tell everybody what kind of bingo game it will be--whether the numbers will have to be all covered across, vertically, four squares or a blackout.
Playing
All players must listen and watch for each number ball that is drawn. They then look at all of their cards to see if the number is there and is in the area that can be covered to win a "bingo." For example, if the announcer has announced that the current game will be "four squares," and then calls out a seven, then the players must look for the number seven in all four squares of their cards. If it is there, they cover it with a playing piece.
Patterns
Blackout is when all of the numbers on the bingo card are covered. A four square round is when only the four corners of the bingo card has to be covered. Diagonal is when all of the numbers across your card are covered. Sometimes announcers may only call odd or even numbers as well.
Winning
Players call "bingo" once all of their numbers have been covered according to the set pattern. When a player calls out "bingo," the announcer will usually check the card to make sure it corresponds with the numbers that have been called. If all of the numbers are covered, that player wins the round.
Strategies
If you are going to play in a bingo hall, it is best to arrive early so that you can choose your desired amount of cards. You can also have time to set up and organize your playing area for easier access. Also, sit as close to the caller as you can, so that you can hear all of the numbers that have been called. Always stay alert and aware so that you do not miss out on that possible winning number.
