Plan a backyard barbecue as a way to congratulate a graduate. Cook some of the graduate's favorite foods and add some side dishes. Choose backyard games that members of the family of all ages can play, such as horseshoes or badminton.

Throw a more formal party that's appropriate for the entire family. Rent a banquet room at a restaurant the graduate enjoys.
