Leaders often create an organizational structure to provide guidelines for their managers to follow. These structures often detail the responsibility of each manager and which division or department they operate. Organizational structure creates a minimum acceptable behavior for company managers.

Business leaders often use a management style to run their organization. These styles can be autocratic, democratic or paternalistic. Autocratic styles allow leaders to make all the decisions while a democratic style involves some input from managers or employees. Paternalistic seeks to create the best situation for everyone in the business. The leader's management style may set the example for managers.


Effects


Creating a standard leadership role in business helps business owners influence the individuals working in their company. Even though managers may not have the same management style as the leader or owner, using a leadership role can create a level environment where individual management styles do not conflict in the company.
