Easy Ideas for a Ladies Party Theme
Getting together with the ladies for a fun-filled gathering can be a nice way to unwind and shake off the stresses of daily life. Sometimes a day with the girls is just what is needed to add some energy back into your life. There are plenty of effortless themes for a ladies' party, and you can easily tailor the activities to the particular inclinations of your group.
Cook or Cake Decorating Class
Check with local restaurants or continuing education centers to find out about cooking or cake decorating classes in your area. This can be a great way to laugh and connect with the ladies while honing an old skill or learning a new one. You might also be able to hire a professional to come to your home and host a class, or arrange a private class at a restaurant or venue for a more intimate party.
Ladies Poker Party
Host a fun night of card playing with the gals for high-rolling entertainment. Lay out a variety of finger foods like chips and dip, sliced veggies, pretzels and shrimp cocktail. Be sure to have plenty of alcohol and mixers on hand. You'll also need some casino chips and a few decks of cards. Hand out monopoly money for the guests to bet with for non-competitive play. Guests can then trade their "money" in at the end of the night for door prizes like a gift certificate for a local salon or a bottle of wine.
Spa Party
Many salons and spas offer group rates and packages for large parties. They also usually provide refreshments and a light lunch if your group asks for it. All you need to do is make the reservations, send out the invites and show up. Bonding over manicures and pedicures is a quintessential girl activity, and the ladies will love a chance to escape and unwind.
Tea Party
Hosting a small tea gathering is a simple and elegant way to get the gals together. Set out tables in the garden or inside your home. Small round tables seating four or five is traditional, but you could do one large or long table as space allows. Set the table(s) with vintage linens and tea cups and saucers. The cups and saucers don't have to match. They can be a mish-mash of complementary china. Provide a large selection of tea bags so guests can choose what they prefer, hot water, lemon, cream and milk. Set out some tea sandwiches, mini cakes and cookies for guests to nibble on. Request that the guests wear hats for a fun and festive feel.
