Combine Christmas and a birthday for a special party.
Christmas birthdays are rough because attention is split between the birthday and the holiday. Parents who opt to celebrate a child's birthday on Christmas may even find it hard to get guests to the party, as they have family obligations. Christmas themed birthday party ideas aren't reserved just for those with a holiday birthday. The same ideas work at any time of the year. Does this Spark an idea?
Where is Donner?
Mystery parties involve party guests working together to determine what happened in a specific crime. While the idea often involves a murder, center a holiday party around the missing reindeer Donner. Explain to the party guests that Donner mysteriously disappeared, when Santa Claus took the sleigh out on a trial run before Christmas. Hide clues to the location of the missing reindeer around your house. Give the guests one clue, which leads them to the next clue and so on. When they find the last clue, they discover where Donner is hiding and what happened to him. If you're hosting a party for older kids, teens or adults, then you can work on a Santa Claus is dead story, where a Santa look-alike gets trapped in a chimney. The guests must uncover the fake Santa's real name and what happened to him.
Holiday Crafts Party
A holiday crafts party gives guests the chance to make small gifts and crafts. You won't need to buy goody bags and, in some cases, the guests use the crafts as Christmas gifts for their families. Create different stations around the party room, where guests make different crafts. They make Christmas tree ornaments, stockings, picture frames and candy cane reindeer. Carefully explain to the guests make each piece, especially if you're hosting a party for younger kids.
Traditional Birthday Party
Fill large bowls with Christmas themed candy, small toys and Christmas type gifts. Give each guest their own stocking and let them fill it with items from the bowls, for quick birthday party goody bags. Set a miniature Christmas tree on one table and decorate it with streamers, small balloons and birthday party favors. Encourage guests to leave their presents underneath the tree. Play traditional birthday party games, but give each one a Christmas twist. One idea is a relay race where teams race to dress as Santa Claus, fill a bag with gift boxes and get back to the finish line.
