A luau is the perfect way to celebrate a summer birthday, the changing of the seasons or just getting together with some good friends to have a Hawaiian-themed celebration they won't forget. Start the party off right with some creative invitations that you can make yourself. Instructions
1. Draw a Hawaiian-themed design such as a flip flop or palm tree on to a colorful piece of card stock.
2. Cut out the picture you drew, and write your party details on the back with a marker.
3. Liven up the invitation by attaching it to a lei or inexpensive pair of plastic flip flops by punching a hole in the invitation and looping a ribbon through it. Tie the ribbon to your party treat.
4. Hand-deliver the invitations to see your guests' surprised expressions when they see your cool luau invites.
