Diy Engagement Party Decorations

Celebrate your upcoming nuptials with an engagement party that is simple yet lovely.

The perfect way to announce your engagement to all your friends and family and to celebrate this wonderful event is to throw an engagement party. Don't worry about spending a lot on elaborate decorations. Save that money for your wedding day. An engagement party can be casual and informal, or more elegant, but either way you can cut costs by putting together simple and understated decorations yourself.

Instructions

1. Choose a venue for your party. This will determine what kind of decorations you need. If you're having your party outdoors, decor will be different from an indoor party held at your home, or a banquet room in a restaurant. Once you narrow down your location, it's easy to start planning your decorations.

2. Decide whether you will have a theme. For instance, a backyard party could have a Mexican or Hawaiian luau theme, and an indoor party could be either casual and laidback or have a cocktail party style theme. Use the theme as a guide for choosing your decorations.

3. Decorate tables with tablecloths that reflect your theme. Brighter colors would work for an outdoor party, or go with black and white for a more upscale look.

4. Add lots of flowers. Put bouquets into large vases and set them around the party space. Flowers instantly liven up a space and pull it together. Coordinate the flowers with the colors of your theme.

5. Light candles. Candles add instant romance and change the mood of a room.

6. Put together a photo collage or place framed photos of the couple throughout the party space.

7. Set pretty bowls of candies out on your tables.

8. Plug in some clear twinkle lights. With the candles, this will create a beautiful glow for your party. These look magical when used outside, especially in the evening.
