Cat-themed birthday parties are an option for kids who love cats.
Choosing a theme for a birthday party is one of the best parts of the party-planning process. For kids, choices range from favorite cartoon or movie characters to favorite sports or hobbies. Another option is to choose the child's favorite animal or pet, such as a cat. You can also do a cat-themed party for a child who is actually receiving a cat or kitten as a birthday present. Partyware
Select cat-themed paper party plates on which to serve party food and, of course, cake. Complement the plates with cat-themed napkins, cups and even plastic ware. (Plastic ware may be hard to find in a cat theme, if so you can, use plastic ware in a color that coordinates with the rest of your decorations.)
Decorations
Cover tables with tablecloths that coordinate with your partyware, preferably tablecloths with cat images on them. Hang up streamers and tie air- or helium-filled balloons around the room with cat pictures on them, or again, in coordinating colors to the decorations you have with cats on them. Some companies also specialize in Mylar balloons that are shaped like cats, are cat-themed designs or that even match the cats on your other decorations. You can hang cat birthday banners and even use images of cat or toy cats as center pieces on the tables.
Invitations and Thank You Notes
Choose cat-themed party invitations to invite guests to the big day. Use matching or cat-themed thank you notes to send guests after the party. You may be able to select invites and notes that match your party decorations, depending on where you purchase the decorations.
Party Favors
Choose party favors such as cat stickers, cat pencils and/or erasers, cat key chains and small plush cats or toy cats. Cat party hats and noise makers are also fun for kids. Some birthday supply stores offer cat-inspired party games for kids to play. If you have leftover food when the party is over, offer to make individual "kitty" bags for guests to take home, using cat-themed bags or bags to which you added cat pictures.
