Grand Floridian Room Types

Whether you're visiting Orlando, Florida, to pay a visit to Mickey and friends at the Magic Kingdom, play golf at one of the area's championship courses or take in other attractions, a stay at the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa may enhance your trip. It offers entertainment, dining, spa treatments and priority access and transportation to Disney World. The resort, which calls itself a nonsmoking property, has 900 rooms.


Standard Room


The standard room with garden view is a guest's lowest-priced option. Rooms ranged from $410 to $515 a night for two adults in September 2010. They include a king bed, table with two chairs, in-room safe, bathrobes, a vanity with two sinks and a refrigerator. Some rooms have a sofa bed and balcony. Extra beds, cribs and microwaves are available. Disney programming is included with the TV service. High-speed Internet access is available for a daily fee. Guests may upgrade to a standard room with a view of Disney's Seven Seas Lagoon.


Royal Palm Club Level


Travelers who book rooms in the resort's Royal Palm Club Level get concierge service. They have the use of a private lounge with free continental breakfast, midday snacks, afternoon tea, wine and cheese in the evening, and late evening cocktails and desserts. Evening turn-down service is included and 24-hour room service is available for a fee. Guests also receive help planning activities at Disney World. Rooms come with two queen beds or one king bed. Most rooms have a balcony and come with a DVD player, makeup mirror and all the amenities of standard rooms. Rates ranged from $705 to $710 a night in September 2010.


Royal Palm Club Level Suite


The Grand Suite is the resort's largest and most expensive accommodation. It includes a master bedroom with king bed, a second bedroom with two twin beds, a balcony, a sitting area and 2 1/2 baths. The Grand Suite has views of the Magic Kingdom theme park and the resort's grounds. The rate averaged $2,105 a night in September 2010. The resort's other suites include a balcony, priority front desk service, a whirlpool bath, free high-speed Internet access and all the amenities of lower-level rooms. Rates ranged from $1,080 to $2,075 a night in September 2010.
