Diy Centerpieces

The right centerpiece can set atmosphere for the entire room.

One way to accessorize your table is to start with a centerpiece. Whether you set one table or 50, professionally designed centerpieces can be very expensive, but you can make your own that are perfect for your event and much less expensive. Regardless of the type of centerpiece you choose, floral or otherwise, keep in mind the theme, color scheme and scale of your event when designing an arrangement.

Instructions

Floral Centerpieces

1. Soak wet foam overnight before beginning centerpiece assembly.

2. Place pre-soaked wet foam in the bottom of the container and begin arranging flowers. Begin with the largest flowers to make them the focal point of the arrangement. Balance the arrangement by using smaller flowers to build out from the center.

3. Fill in remaining spaces with greenery. Make sure your arrangement is full without being over packed.

4. Accessorize floral arrangements by adding a ribbon to the mouth of the vase or placing tea lights or additional fresh petals around the base to complement your flowers.

Flower Alternatives

5. Fill a container with beach sand or river rocks. Leave enough room at the top so the filling doesn't spill if the centerpiece is bumped. If you are using clear glass containers of the same size, you can fill them to different levels to add visual interest.

6. Add a pillar candle in the center of the sand or river rocks.

7. Place the container in the center of a mirror tile and scatter river rock, glass rocks or tea lights around the base. Wrap a wired ribbon around the container, if desired.
