Nancy Drew is a popular fictional detective that has sold millions of books. In 1998, a video game publishing company called Her Interactive starting making Nancy Drew video games for the PC. There have been 22 games in all and several of them contain cheat codes that will make the game easier to complete.
"Secrets Can Kill"
In "Nancy Drew: Secrets Can Kill", there is a phone that can be used in the magazine room. Instead of calling the numbers that advance you in the game, you can enter other phone numbers to get funny responses. Try each of these phone numbers: 555-TONY, 555-4855, 555-JUDO, 1-800-432-JOIN, 555-5253.
"Curse of the Blackmoor Manor"
In "Nancy Drew: Curse of the Blackmoor Manor", there is a cheat that will allow Nancy to have a special dream in the middle of the night. Go into Jane's room; there will be a pair of chattering teeth on her desk. Click on the chattering teeth 10 times, then go to bed. The special dream will then occur while you are sleeping.
"Danger By Design"
In "Nancy Drew: Danger By Design", there is a cheat that will allow the player to develop their pictures without having to go through the developing process. Go into Dieter's studio and flush the toilet ten times. After the 10th flush, there will be a chicken sound. After this sound, the player will receive a blue egg. Turn to the table to develop the pictures and use the blue egg; all the negatives will turn into photos.
"Ghost Dogs of Moon Lake"
In "Nancy Drew: Ghost Dogs of Moon Lake" there is a cheat that will open up secret areas. Go to Sally's phone and on dial 555-SOLV. After you have dialed the number, the player will receive an easter egg. Go to the woods and use the easter egg and the cheat will allow you to go to secret areas.
"The Phantom of Venice"
In "Nancy Drew: The Phantom of Venice", there are two cheat codes that will allow you to unlock extras at the end of the game. First, use a hairpin to unlock the locked door that is beside Colin. Once the lock is picked, you will receive the first easter egg. Next, go to the gelatin stand in the marketplace. Buy the flavors cherry, coconut and lime and you will receive a second easter egg. Then, when the game is over, you will get some extras that can be viewed.
