Budget Maui Activities

Budget Maui Activities

While Maui might seem like it is an out-of-your-price-range vacation, it can be quite reasonable if you participate in free or low-cost activities.

Participate in a Package Deal

Some hotels throw in activities as part of a package to get guests to stay with them. These packages can be a great way to get the island experience for less.

Visit the Beach

Maui beaches are public and free. So spending time on the beach is a great way to save money.

Hike Haleakala

Although the Haleakala National Park requires an entrance fee, it is comparatively low. Once inside the park, you can watch the sunrise and sunset, star gaze, or hike around the desert-like caldera.

See the Other Volcano

On the western part of the island, Iao Valley State Park is formed around an extinct volcano. Admission is free and the hiking is beautiful.

Maui Ocean Center

For a small fee, visitors can get up close and personal with the underwater population of Maui's waters. All without strapping on a set of scuba gear.
