Going camping in Muskegon, Michigan will set your adventure into motion. Muskegon has 26 miles of beaches along the Lake Michigan shore. You can camp along the beaches, or near lakes or in the state parks. There are a variety of recreational activities, from enjoying the parks to boating, birding, or riding the third highest wooden roller coaster in the nation.

Go to the Visit Muskegon website: www.visitmuskegon.org. Go to lodging, then click on camping to research campgrounds, parks and resorts. Phone numbers are listed for questions or reservations and some also have web addresses.


2. Muskegon offers plenty of fun outside the tent.


You can request a visitors guide at the Visit Muskegon site. It's available in PDF format, or you can have one sent to you by mail. Choose from the guide's lists of entertainment, points of interest and activities to participate in.


3. Make your reservations up to six months in advance.


Click on the campground of your choice for facility prices, rules and services, as well as site maps and contact information. Make reservations up to 6 months in advance of your camping trip.
