Florida Koa Rv Parks

KOA has campgrounds all over Florida.

KOA offers over 20 campgrounds throughout Florida, each catering to RV campers with varying vacation wants. The KOA brand, although franchised, sets many user-friendly policies that umbrella over all the campgrounds, allowing campers to know what they'll get at each park. The family-friendly chain also offers the "family zone," a resource full of checklists, advice, games and recipes to allow campers to get the most out of their Florida RV vacations.

Geography

KOA has campgrounds from the northwest corner of Florida's panhandle down to the keys. Parks are located in Atlantic coast cities, Gulf cities and in the interior of the state. They are also near many popular tourist destinations, such as Lake Okeechobee, Kissimmee and several popular beaches such as St. Augustine and Daytona.

Amenities

Amenities vary at each KOA, however, common amenities include swimming pools, free Wi-Fi, basketball and volleyball courts, camp stores and horseshoe pits. Depending on your park, you may also have access to rental boats, miniature golf, bicycle rentals or fishing. KOAs are also pet-friendly.

KOA prides itself in being RV-friendly, with hookups for different RV types such as conversion vans or motor homes. Extended patios and full-service laundry facilities add to the convenience of KOA RV vacations. RV amenities also vary, although most KOAs in Florida offer 50-amp service and pull-through sites of varying lengths from 50 to 120 feet. Services such as cable television or rental RVs are also offered at some of the parks.

Things to Do

Florida is known for many things, including theme and amusement parks, beaches and wildlife. KOA campgrounds are strategically placed by many of these activities. Whether you are looking for an adventure or a relaxing RV vacation, your KOA is designed to offer both. Stay in the campground to enjoy the offered activities or take a short trip to a local destination and go canoeing, walk down a boardwalk for wildlife viewing or hit the beach.

Benefits

KOA offers reward cards for campers who plan on traveling in their RVs several times throughout the membership year. The KOA Value Kard Rewards program gives you points for qualifying stays, which you can later redeem for savings on additional stays. Card holders receive 10 percent discounts on daily registration fees and are automatically upgraded to V.I.P. status with 20,000 points earned in a membership year. Other benefits for cardholders include partner discounts for items such as rental cars, motorcycle rentals and discounts in listing your RV for sale or purchasing a used RV. The membership fee was $24 per year as of 2010.
