Make a simple and glittery mermaid costume.
Mermaids are fictional creatures that are half-fish and half-women. Mermaids are known to have beautiful and captivating voices, which are quite alluring to human males. Though these whimsical sea creatures do not exist, you can still create the fantasy by designing and constructing your own homemade mermaid glitter costume. This also is a convenient no-sew costume.
Instructions
1. Insert the short width of the fabric between your ankles and tape to your leg. Begin to wrap the fabric tightly around both legs and gradually move toward your stomach, until you have covered your entire lower body.
2. Tuck the remaining fabric inside the lining or secure with a safety pin. Glue the edges of the fabric down, using a glue gun. It may help if a friend can do this for you. When the tail feels secure on your body, glue on sequins or glitter in a fish scale design. Another option is to apply the glitter and sequins on the fabric before you wrap it around your body.
3. Cut out large fins, or right triangles, from the felt sheets. Drizzle white glue on the sheets and cover with glitter or sequins. Dust off remaining glitter. Glue the fins to the front of the tail so they cover your feet.
4. Draw a seashell design on the bra cup, using paint or permanent marker. Glue on sequins or glitter to decorate.
5. Accessorize with shell or coral jewelry, such as bracelets, rings and necklaces. Style your hair so that it is long and wavy.
