Dessert Ideas For A Wedding Reception

Dessert Ideas for a Wedding Reception

Many couples choose to serve their wedding cake to guests as dessert at their wedding reception, but other couples want to offer their guests a little something extra or even a little something extravagant to go along with their wedding cake.

Wedding Cake

If you decide that you want to serve only your wedding cake for dessert, then consider adding a small scoop of ice cream to the plate. It will make it look more balanced and decorative. Plus, most people enjoy ice cream with their cake.

Chocolate Fountain

A chocolate fountain is essentially chocolate fondue that cascades down a fountain. Guests may use wooden skewers to dip various sliced fruits into the chocolate. This makes for a very fun and tasty dessert.

Dipped Strawberries

Consider offering your guests a dipping station for strawberries. They may choose to dip their strawberries in milk chocolate sauce, dark chocolate sauce, white chocolate sauce, whipped cream or sugar.

Cookies

It is now possible to order cookies with a picture placed in the center. Consider serving your guests cookies with a special picture or message that is just for them.

Assortment

Offer your guests an assortment of finger-food desserts. These may include individual pies or tortes, chocolate truffles or cream puffs.

Coffee Station

For some people, dessert is incomplete without coffee or tea. Many couples choose to offer their guests an assortment of flavors of both coffee and tea. This is also great to serve before guests leave for the evening.
