Examples Of Baby Shower Invitations

Create baby bottle invitations using clear, non-breakable baby bottles.

Sending invitations is one of the first things you need to do when planning and hosting a baby shower. Different designs of baby shower invitation cards are available for you to choose from that include various shapes and colors. Aside from the usual fill-in-the-blanks baby shower invitation cards, other methods of creating baby shower invitations are also available that will elicit good feedback from both the recipients and the parents-to-be. Does this Spark an idea?

Baby Bottle Invitations

Baby bottle invitations offer a different twist to the usual invitation cards. Use small (1 oz.), clear, non-breakable baby bottles to show the message from the inside. Write the information about the party on a piece of stationery or colorful paper, roll it up, tie it with a piece of ribbon and insert it inside the baby bottle. Use printable adhesive paper as address labels. Do not put the baby bottle nipple on, just screw on the baby bottle cap to ensure the scroll paper will remain inside the baby bottle. Once the recipients open the bottle, they will be able to scoop up the scroll paper from inside. Handing out the baby bottle in person is the ideal method of delivery for a baby bottle invitation; however, you can check with the post office on the best way to deliver the bottles by mail to distant places.

Baby Pictures Of Parents

Ask a close family member for a baby picture of each of the parent-to-be. The couple's first baby photos are ideal for this type of invitation. Scan the baby pictures into your computer and crop them so that they will be next to each other. Using photo-editing software will simplify this step while allowing you to incorporate creative touches such as adding decorative images and background. Write captions that will captivate the attention of the recipients. Include the names of the parents and a short message; for example, "Laura and Jeff used to be babies themselves, now they are about to become proud parents. Please join us in a surprise baby shower for the lovely couple." Add the information about the baby shower to include the date, time and place. Print on a stock card paper and fold into two to create a folding invitation card. The photos will appear on the cover along with the message while the party information will appear inside.

Diaper-Shaped Invitations

Creating invitations in the shape of a baby diaper will leave no doubt that the event is for a baby shower. Purchase baby shower invitations shaped in a diaper at stores specializing in invitations. Creating one on your own is possible, however, time-consuming because you will need to cut each paper stock into a shape of a diaper. Write the party information inside, fold the diaper and seal it with a sticker designed as a paper clip. Choose blue for a boy, pink for a girl, yellow or white if you do not know the baby's sex.
