Fun Ideas For A Bachlorette Party

Unique ideas make for a special and fun bachelorette party.

Planning a bachelorette party can be a challenge, and pinpointing ideas that will make your celebration special and fun is key. Keep in mind the bride's tastes, wishes and habits when planning the party, and you'll wind up with a great party she'll never forget.

Themes

Choosing a theme for the party can contribute to making it a fun evening for everyone, especially the bride. Ask everyone to dress according to a certain theme; for example, choose a color for everyone to wear, ask everyone to dress as vampires or provide decor and accessories according to a Wild West theme. You may also get very specific with your theme, according to your bride's tastes. If she's a hairdresser, perhaps the theme could be hairstyles. If she's a chess player, black and white might be a good theme.

Games and Gifts

Games and gifts can be an excellent way to liven up a bachelorette party. Ask the guests to each bring a gag gift for the bride-to-be. These can provide a lot of laughs. Simple games like charades, truth or dare and scavenger hunts can be a surprising way to keep guests engaged and having a good time. All of these games can be adjusted to go along with the party's theme, if there is one.

Adult Activities

A common bachelorette party activity is to either hire a male stripper or visit a male strip club. These activities aren't for everyone, so be sure to gauge your guests' and bride-to-be's comfort levels before committing to this kind of plan. Adult novelty stores sell "naughty" games to play, props with which to decorate your party and clothing to wear out. Drinking alcoholic beverages, often going out to a restaurant or club that serves them, is another popular option, provided all in attendance are of legal drinking age.

Laid Back Plans

Some brides relish the idea of just kicking back and relaxing with their friends. For this type of bride, plan a quiet evening full of fun activities. Start out at a restaurant for dinner and then move on to a bowling alley, a movie or a karaoke bar. Plan a slumber party for the bride and her closest friends at someone's house or at a hotel.

Destination Party

Hold your party at a destination away from home. Parties at a spa, ski lodge or beach resort can provide a relaxing and fun get away from all of the stress of planning a wedding. Before planning this type of event, ask everyone on the guest list what their budgets are to ensure that you'll have good attendance. If everyone involved is on a tight budget, this may not be the best plan.
