Halloween is an exciting time of year for children.
Halloween is a great holiday for kids; playing dress up and getting free candy make it an obvious favorite. The build up to Halloween is a very exciting time for the youngsters; they get to pick out a costume and help with scary decorations. The number of spooktacularly fun Halloween activities for kids to do is nearly endless. Does this Spark an idea?
Balloon Ghost
In order to make this cute yet creepy ghost, first blow up one white balloon. Then cut the handles off of two white plastic shopping bags and cut the bags into strips, leaving the seam at the bottom intact. Tape the seam end of the bags around the end of the balloon, then draw big eyes and a mouth with a black marker. Find a nice place for him to haunt!
Cup O' Worms
This creepy-but-tasty Halloween treat will need plenty of adult supervision to avoid a mess. To make a cup o' worms, you will need a clear plastic cup, prepared chocolate pudding, cocoa powder and gummy worms. Spoon a portion of chocolate pudding into a cup, sprinkle cocoa powder on top then add a few gummy worms on top. The end result is what appears to be a pile of worms in the mud, just what every kid needs at Halloween time!
Egg Carton Spider
This is a fun craft that the kids don't need much help with. Detach one egg cup from a carton and make four holes in either side of the base. Bend and insert a pipe cleaner into each hole to make the legs. After that, it's time to give that spider some personality, and kids can draw and color the face any way they choose.
Jack O' Lantern Mask
Draw the face of a jack o' lantern on the back of a paper plate, then cut out the eyes, nose and mouth. Using crayons or markers, color and decorate the jack o' lantern. Poke a hole in each side of the mask toward the middle. Tie elastic or yarn into the holes and the mask is ready to wear.
