Creative Sales Flyer Ideas

Holiday flyer.

Whether your aim is to attract customers for a new business venture or to entice new customers to an established business or online store, there are several approaches you can employ to attract customers. One of the ways to achieve your goals is by developing creative sales flyers.

Using People

Consider hiring models or using pictures of staff or customers in your flyer as a way to draw potential customer attention. Including people enjoying or using your product can be more appealing than simply using a photo of the product and a description. You might have a contest within your business to select staff models and offer some gratuity or other reward. You can take the same approach with enlisting models from the public. Remember to use a contract with the rules and benefits of a contest or other promotion.

Create a Character and/or a Storyline

People are drawn to interesting characters and stories. Even in the context of advertising a product or service, you can develop a character and storyline to set your business apart from your competitors. Think about commercials you have seen that sold a product or service and had a central character and a plot that included the product or service in the storyline. Employing this approach will help establish your business in the minds of the public more so than a traditional advertising campaign. Your flyer could use the same characters linked to other advertisements within your overall marketing strategy, such as commercials or videos you post online or on your website.

Using Photo, Clip Art and Other Graphics

There are many places online to purchase or obtain free graphics to incorporate on your flyer. Free clip art is in the "public domain" for personal and commercial use. You may want to select clip art that matches the text of your flyer. For example, if you've decided to take a humorous approach, you may wish to seek out clip art or photos that fit that approach, such as a funny photo of a baby eating strained carrots with a look of disgust on his face. Your text might relate to how your product or service won't leave a bad taste or cause a person dissatisfaction.
