Crafts For Trinkets

Store your trinkets inside of decorative boxes.

It's easy to misplace trinkets, but not when you have special crafts designed specially to store them. A craft that you make for trinkets will keep your things in order and serve as a decorative item for your shelves or dresser. Select a suitable craft project that meets the needs of the type of trinkets you collect or have laying around.

Trinket Boxes

A trinket box provides shelter for your small personal items, such as jewelry, pins and patches. Options for trinket box crafts include purchasing small boxes in natural, unpainted wood that you paint and decorate yourself, or molding a trinket box out of clay and painting it. Both options allow you to customize your trinket box for the occasion. For instance, if you are giving a wooden or clay trinket box as a Christmas gift, paint it red and place a green bow on top of the lid.

Trinket Tree

A trinket tree is an ornamental decoration made up of a variety of trinkets that you no longer find useful. The tree itself is made out of trinkets and tiny toys that are glued together onto a Styrofoam cone and painted gold. The cone, or tree, sits atop a cake stand that is also painted gold. Arrange the trinkets and toys so that they are clustered together, but maintain the cone shape.

Trinket Mobile

Construct a trinket mobile that hangs from the ceiling and dangles trinkets in the air. Put the structure of your mobile together by using strips of wood or even a coat hanger. Use craft wire to secure the trinket and attach it to the mobile's main structure so that it hangs without the risk of falling. Make each trinket a different length so that the trinkets hang and move around in various formations.

Trinket Canvas

If you have trinkets that you don't want anymore, such as jewelry or tiny toys, make a modern art piece by glueing them onto a large blank canvas. Arrange the trinkets into clusters so that the canvas becomes alive and busy-looking. You can embellish the blank areas of the canvas with paint or leave them blank so that the trinkets stand out more.
