Bowling Birthday Party Ideas For A Child

Celebrate yoru child's birthday at the bowling alley!

Throw a birthday party at the bowling alley where the staff supplies the food, drink and tableware. The alley itself is already decorated in a bowling theme and bowling is the main activity. Throw in a few balloons, add some simple games and bring the cake to make this bowling birthday party complete. Does this Spark an idea?

Invitations

Create your own bowling ball invitations with black card stock and a white pen. Cut a circle that is 4 3/4 inches in diameter from the black card stock. Color in the finger holes and write the party details with a white pen. Insert the cards into a CD envelope so that you can see the ball and read the invitation through the clear window. Cut the shape of a bowling pin from white card stock to make bowling pin invitations. Use a red marker to draw lines at the "neck" of the pin. Write the party information on the bowling pin. Word your invitations with phrases such as, "Have a ball at Kenny's party" or "Roll on down to Jack's birthday bowling party."

Balloons

Black balloons are the perfect decorations for the bowling birthday party. Add white circle stickers to represent the finger holes and bring your balloons along to designate which lane is hosting the party.

Silly Bowl

Fill a bowling ball bag with cards on which you have previously written commands such as "bowl backwards," "do a silly dance," and "bowl while sitting criss-cross style." Have a player pick a command card from the bag prior to her turn to bowl. She then must perform the task as instructed on the card while she bowls.

Pin the Ball on the Pin

Draw 10 bowling pins on poster board. Cut out enough bowling balls for each guest from black construction paper. Tape the poster board to an available wall. Blindfold players and send them to stick their ball on a bowling pin. Players who tag a pin win.

Bowling Ball and Pin Cake

Create a cool bowling ball and pin cake with two 13-by-9-inch cake pans, a dome bowl or pan, frosting, food coloring and fruit strips. Shape one of the 13-by-9 cakes into a bowling pin and frost with white frosting. Cut a circle from the second rectangle cake and place atop the lower portion of the bowling pin. Place the dome cake on the circle cake and frost with dark chocolate frosting. Scoop out three finger holes from the dome cake and drop a tea light candle into each hole. Add red fruit strips or licorice rope to create the stripes.

Bowling Shirts

Order custom-printed bowling shirts or t-shirts for your league of "Birthday Bowlers." Guests can wear these at the party and keep them as a parting gift.
