Cruises From San Diego To Honolulu

Cruises from San Diego to Honolulu

San Diego and Honolulu are 2,269 nautical miles apart, separated only by the Pacific Ocean. Holland America operates two ships, the Zaandam and Rotterdam, for cruises from San Diego to Honolulu. Holland America is the only cruise line operating that route.

San Diego, on the southern coast of California, is the ninth-largest city in the United States, with origins in Spanish missions. Honolulu, capital of the state of Hawaii, traces its origins to Polynesian immigrants.

15-Day Circle Hawaii Cruise

Holland America Zaandam cruises from San Diego to Honolulu with stops in Hilo; Kauai; Honolulu; Lahaina and Kona (all Hawaii islands), before returning to Ensenada, Mexico, on a 15-day itinerary. Zaandam, named for the city of Zaandam near Amsterdam, is 781 feet long. It was inaugurated in 2000 and can accommodate 1,432 passengers.

Noteworthy about the Zaandam is the musical decor theme. The ship is decorated with artifacts and memorabilia such as a Baroque-style Dutch pipe organ and guitars signed by the Rolling Stones and Carlos Santana. Former President Bill Clinton's signed saxophone is on a stairway.
