Bat Birthday Party Ideas

A bat birthday party can be a very cute and creative party theme.

A bat birthday party is a creative theme that can be very cute and different with the proper planning and ideas. Use black as a base color for the decor of your party, and incorporate bright purple or blues to make the bat theme less dark and more fun and goofy. Fill the room with black balloons, and add black streamers and tape little cut-out bats all over the walls. Does this Spark an idea?

Bat Goody Bag

Create goody bags filled with bat-themed items as a way to say thank you to the guests for coming. Find miniature stuffed bats at toy stores, gift shops or online stores. Also, add children's books about bats, bat connect-the-dots and bat puzzles to the goody bag. These types of gifts can be found year-round online, or you can also find them in costume stores around Halloween. Also, make your own bat-shaped sugar cookies and decorate them with black icing and candy for eyes and a nose. Wrap the cookies in cellophane and add them to the goody bag. Finally, give each child a black headband with black pointy "ears" so the guests can dress up as bats as well.

Bat Cake

Making a bat-themed cake is a great way to bring the bat theme to life at your party. There are a few different ways you can create a bat cake. Make a cake that is shaped like an actual bat by baking one cake that is round in the middle, and two side cakes that are then cut into wing shapes. Cover the whole cake in black icing and use decorator's icing to draw on eyes, a nose and a mouth. Another way to make a bat cake is to make a basic sheet cake as a base, and then draw on several little bats. Decorate the sheet cake as a dark, spooky night with a full moon and a scary-looking house in the background, then draw the bats flying through the air. If you aren't interested in making a whole cake, instead make individual cupcakes with a bat on each cupcake. Cupcakes are a creative alternative to a whole cake and can be easier to eat in a party setting.

Bat Invitations

Make fun bat-themed invitations to tell your guests what your party is all about. You can easily make your own bat-themed invitations. This will be a fun craft for you and your child to enjoy together. Cut bat shapes out of black construction paper, and add cute googly eyes to give the bat a fun and silly look. Print the text, "Let's Get Batty," on the front or inside of the invitation. Use this saying throughout the party as well. Write it on the outside of the goody bags and on the cake, and make a huge banner with the saying as well.
