Birthday Parties Ideas For A Girl

A girl's birthday party should be fun for all partygoers.

Holding a birthday party for your girl can be a lot of fun for both you and your daughter. There are many ideas that can make the party memorable. Each party idea is best united under a theme chosen by your daughter or suggested by you. Party ideas vary depending on the age of your daughter. Does this Spark an idea?

Princess Party

Many young girls love the idea of princesses and a princess party gives them a chance to act out those fantasies. Invitations should be written with very royal sounding prose. For example, the invitation could read "The Royal Princess Josephine of the Jones Family does hereby invite the royal court of princesses from the Springfield Kingdom to a celebration of her birth." Decorations should include lace, model princess candles and bowls of golden chocolate. Each girl should bring her own princess outfit. Games can include princess modeling contests, tea parties and other royal games. Food should include tea and crumpets and whatever else the birthday girl wants.

Sports Party

Not every girl is interested in princesses or girl fantasies. Many girls really enjoy sports. Send out invitations stating that each guest has been "drafted" to the family "team." Each girl should wear a sports jersey to the party, either her own or a recreation of her favorite athlete's. Make sure each girl brings a piece of sports paraphernalia, such as a soccer ball or a softball bat. Games can include playing the sports outside if it is warm enough or playing video game re-creations if it is too cold to play outside. Girls can also watch any sports game on the television or watch DVDs of great sports games. Food can include hot dogs, hamburgers, Gatorade and other sporting-event favorites.

Pajama Slumber Party

A pajama slumber birthday party is perfect for pre-teen and teen girls with a lot of friends. The party invitations can be worded like hotel reservations, such as "Jane Doe has a reservation at the Smith Family Hotel on May 4th, 2011, at 7 p.m. Pajama attire required. Sleeping bags available." Everyone should be wearing pajamas, including the adults. Rent several movies for entertainment. Buy pizza and chips for the food. The party should including cutting the cake, eating ice cream and board games. Try to go to bed by at least 10:00. This gives the girls plenty of time to have fun by themselves.

Nostalgia Birthday Party

An 18th birthday party may make a girl feel nostalgic, as she is officially becoming an adult. Throw a nostalgia party to remember all the good old times. Invitations should use nostalgic words, such as "remembering" to put all the girls in the proper nostalgic mood. Party games can include nostalgic storytelling games. Decorations can include pictures from the past, including sporting events, school pictures and past birthday-party pictures. The food can be any that makes the birthday girl and her friends nostalgic. If the girls had a memorable trip to Taco Bell at one birthday party, serve them tacos.
