"Barbie And The Magic Of Pegasus" Birthday Ideas

Create a magic wand activity and contest for party guests.

Bring some fairy tale to your daughter's Barbie birthday party by incorporating "The Magic of Pegasus" into her party. "Barbie and the Magic of Pegasus" is a movie about Barbie -- who plays Annika, a princess who loves to ice skate. With careful planning, a few supplies and some party ideas, you can create your daughter's dream Barbie party. Does this Spark an idea?

Invitations

"Barbie and the Magic of Pegasus" invitations are available at most party supply stores and online. If you want to create your own invitations, print pictures of Barbie and clip art from the movie to tape on shiny white card stock paper. Place "Barbie and the Magic of Pegasus" stickers all over the invitations. Write, "You are invited to join us for a Magical Barbie Party for _______" on the front of the invitation. For added fun, attach a miniature Barbie doll to the invitation and hand-deliver it to your party guests.

Decorations

Decorate the party area with "Barbie and the Magic of Pegasus" decorations and pictures. Print pictures from the movie and hang them on the wall. Use Barbie dolls to decorate around the party area. Attach a balloon bouquet to an Annika Barbie doll. Create the "Cloud Kingdom" by hanging clouds, snowflakes and rainbows from the ceiling and on the walls. Make a castle using a large appliance box. Paint and color the box to represent a castle and place it in the middle of the party area.

Activities

For an arrival activity, have an older teen paint an item -- such as a rainbow, snowflake, magic wand, heart or jewel -- on each guest's cheek. Sprinkle a small amount of fine polyester glitter on top of the painting to make it shine. For another party activity, spray-paint 10- to 12-inch wood dowels with white or silver paint the night before the party. Have the party guests sit around a table and give each one a wood dowel. Place glitter, ribbons, sequins, rhinestones and glue on the table for the girls to use to decorate their own magic wand.

Games

Print out a "Magic of the Pegasus" picture from the Internet. Cut the picture into 10 pieces and hide them all over the party area. When you say "Go," the party guests must hunt for all of the pieces. After they have all of the pieces, they must put the puzzle together. Award a prize to all of the girls who participate and help put the puzzle together. For another game, make a contest out of the wand activity. Award prizes to the guests with the best, most creative and most magical-looking wand.
