Furniture
The furniture in your baby's room should be sturdy, secure, functional and comfortable. Your changing table should have a protective railing that keeps baby from rolling off during diaper changes; choose a table that has shelving and storage space underneath to house changing materials and tiny clothes. You should have a piece of furniture in your baby's room that's just for you (like a rocking chair, love seat or ottoman), that seats you comfortably for afternoon naps or late night feeding sessions with the baby.
Floors and Walls
The floors and walls of your baby's room should enhance the decor with colorful and comfortable rugs or carpeting, and lively paint or wallpaper. Complementary paintings and window coverings can enhance the decor. Keep in mind that your baby will grow into a toddler quickly; she'll need a safe area to crawl and walk, as well as sights that stimulate her mind and spark her curiosity.
