Diy Print Wedding Invitations

Single page invitations are much easier to print yourself than folded invitations.

The day of your wedding is one of the most memorable days of your life, and the guests you invite will only make your special day that much more memorable. The wedding invitation conveys important information that guests need to know such as the date, location, and any special requests of the bride and groom. If you are a bride or groom on a budget, print your wedding invitations at home to save on costly printing charges---most modern printers and desktop computers can generate quality invitations for a fraction of the cost and wedding invitation kits are available at wedding or party supply stores.

Instructions

1. Draft up the information you will include in your card such as the names of the bride and groom, their parents, the date and location of the wedding, and any other important information. Decide where you will place text on your cards and what fonts you will use.

2. Open your word processing document and create a new document. Add another page to the document so that you have two pages---one for the front of your card and one for the back. Change the orientation of the pages if your card will be folded vertically.

3. Create a gridline to divide the page in half. This line will not show up when you print and is just a guideline for your card's design

4. Insert the graphics and text for your wedding invitation. On the first page, write the message that will appear inside the card. Place the message on the right half of the page if the card is folded vertically. If the page is to be folded horizontally, place the message on the bottom half of the page.

5. Insert the text and graphics that should appear on the front and back of the card. For a card that is folded vertically, place the front cover message and graphics on the right side of the page. For a card that is folded horizontally, place the message and graphics on the bottom of the page.

6. Select "Print" and then set your paper size to match the size of the unfolded card. Insert a test piece of paper that is the same size as your card into the printer and print out the first page of your document.

7. Flip the paper over and reinsert it into the printer. Print the second page on the back of your page. Fold the mock-up card to see that everything is as it should be and make any adjustments to your word document or print settings. When you print out a mock-up card that is to your liking, continue printing using your real wedding cards.
