Family Reunion Flyer Ideas

Fun invitations

Family reunions are some of the most fun ways to get the whole family together without a holiday or other official celebration to tie the group together. Invitations to announce the event make it easier to remember the reunion date but also are a good way to advertise for the coming festivities and get everyone excited. Does this Spark an idea?

Themes

Your flyer is the first sign of the fun to come so be sure to keep it lively and in the tone of the celebration you are going to throw. If your reunion has events, themes or a special location, using them in the motif can hint to your guests about what to expect and get them more excited. This means borders, backdrops and pictures to make your flyer entertaining. If your family is meeting at an amusement park, include a picture of a rollercoaster as your bottom border, or if you are having it in a park, use a picnic or outdoors theme with a tree or other graphic. Experiment with ideas on your computer. Check the References section below for downloadable family reunion flyer templates that you can experiment with at home.

Use a hole-puncher to add ribboned bows to your flyer's top by threading ribbon into the paper. You can use stickers and texture with glue, glitter and embossing, too. If you are mailing your flyers, don't forget to jazz up the envelopes.

Facts

Your flyer should be more than just fun. It should be informative. Tell your guests the day and date of the reunion as well as the location. If they need to take more than just themselves or meet a specific dress code, you might want to include instructions. (For example: "Bring swimsuits and comfortable shoes.") Let them know who they can call with questions and arrangements, and if travel is required, If you are bringing in relatives from far away, try to contact them and find out if they need advice reserving a hotel room or rental car. For relatives living closer, you might want to include instructions on what food they can take to the reunion. Include a task on each flyer, making one family in charge of photography, one desserts, one drinks, one activities.
