Entertainment Ideas For Backyard Parties

Plan some fun activities for the next outdoor party you throw.

A backyard party is a good way to entertain friends when the weather outside is warm and sunny. But the backyard itself is often not enough entertainment in itself, so plan some activities or entertainments for your guests. Whether you will be hosting adults or children, there are plenty of things you can do to keep everyone happy during the party. Does this Spark an idea?

Bouncy House

Backyard parties are a good option when you are throwing a children's party at your home because it keeps all of the children having fun outdoors. That means that you don't have to worry about a mess or broken objects inside your home. Keeping the children entertained outdoors is important, so consider renting a bouncy house or two, depending on the number of children you are hosting. Bouncy houses come in all sorts of designs, from barns to princess castles.

Outdoor Games

Outdoor games are a fun and easy way to keep party guests entertained when you throw a backyard party at your home. If you will be hosting adults, consider setting up games like cornhole or horseshoes. Children's games can be fun for both children or adults, if your adult friends enjoy getting back to their childhood. Relay races and scavenger hunts are two options that are easy to set up in your backyard.

Dancing

When your friends like to get out on a dance floor, consider setting one up in your backyard. You could rent a dance floor from a local party store, or skip that step altogether and let the dancing happen in your grass. Use your mp3 player or CDs to DJ the dancing if you don't want to hire a professional disc jockey. set up tiki lanterns around the dance floor or string white lights from your trees to provide soft lighting for the dance party if you hold it at night.

Wine Tasting

When the weather turns nice in the spring or the fall, consider having a wine tasting for your friends in your backyard. Hire a wine expert from a local wine shop or vineyard to come to your home and bring a variety of different types of wines. Set up a bar in your backyard where the expert can tell your friends all about the wines and they can taste them. When the tasting is over, have plenty of wine on hand for your friends to eat, along with snacks like cheese and cured meats.
