Expensive Japanese Hotels

Tokyo is home to some of Japan's most expensive hotels.


Japan is full of expensive hotels. From luxury hotels in downtown Tokyo to tranquil spas in Okinawa, Japan has accommodations to satisfy even the most discriminating tastes. These hotels offer many amenities, from private pools to butler service. If you can afford it, these luxury Japanese hotels will provide it.


The Peninsula


The Peninsula is located in downtown Tokyo, close to the Imperial Palace Gardens. Its 267 rooms have starting rates of $600, while the 47 suites have starting rates of $8,500. Each suite has distinctive features. The Hibiya Suite comes equipped with a telescope, while the Peninsula Suite has a dining room table that seats 12 guests. The hotel even maintains a fleet of Rolls Royces and BMW limousines for the transportation of guests.


Imperial Hotel


The Imperial Hotel was built in 1890 by the Japanese Imperial Palace. Architect Frank Lloyd Wright designed a replacement in 1920. The hotel is located in downtown Tokyo, and is considered Japan's most famous and luxurious hotel. A room at the Imperial starts at $378 per night, while a suite costs $10,500. The hotel houses the famous Aqua Lounge where celebrities and VIPs come to drink and relax.


Rihga Royal Hotel


The Rihga Royal Hotel in Hiroshima was built in the image of Hiroshima Castle. The 35 story hotel is located in the heart of Hiroshima and offers views of the sea and the Hiroshima castle. The 485 standard rooms and 6 guest suites offer luxurious decor and expansive views. Standard room rates start at $205, and the luxury suites cost $1,120.


Kise Bettei


The Kise Bettei is a quiet, classically elegant hotel located in Okinawa. All of the guest rooms have views of Nago Bay. The Kise Bettei offers a full service spa, with massage, facials and body treatments. The hotel has two luxury bars and two gourmet restaurants. One of the restaurants serves traditional Okinawan cuisine, while the other serves authentic Italian cuisine prepared by a Italian-trained chef. Standard room rates start at $847, and the luxury suites start at $4,238.
