Diy Printable Wedding Invitations

Make your own wedding invitations at home.

You don’t need to buy expensive wedding invitations online or from a local stationery store. You can create your own using Microsoft Word wedding invitation templates. These do-it-yourself templates are easy to use and can be changed to reach the style and look you want. Enter new text or customize standard greetings for a more personalized touch. Either way, you can have DIY printable wedding invitations in about an hour.

Instructions

1. Open Microsoft Word. Click the shortcut icon on your desktop or access the program using "Start," which is on the bottom left-hand corner of your computer screen. Select "All Programs." Find Microsoft Word among the list of available programs.

2. Locate the toolbar on the top of your computer screen. Select "File." A drop-down menu will appear. Select "New" and wait for a window to open.

3. Scroll down the list of templates, which will appear in alphabetical order. Select "Invitations." Select "Wedding Invitations."

4. Select a wedding invitation template. Consider the style of your wedding ceremony before choosing a template.

5. Create your wedding invitation. Before you can add text, you’ll need to delete the text that already is included. Move your mouse pointer over each text box to highlight the text. Click "Delete." Insert new text.

6. Invite guests to share in the union of the bride and groom. Enter the first, middle and last name of the couple. Acknowledge the bride’s parents at the top of the wedding invitation. Use a short statement such as, "Mr. and Mrs. Bride’s Parents request the honor of your presence at the marriage of their daughter."

7. Include the date, time and location of the wedding ceremony. Write a short statement about the reception such as "Reception to Follow."

8. Click "Save As" to save the wedding invitation. Choose a file name.

9. Insert wedding stationery into your printer's paper tray. Wedding stationery is available in traditional colors such as ivory, cream and white, as well as other hues. Some varieties of tissue paper and heavyweight paper might cause a paper jam, so check the owner’s manual for instructions before use.

10. Click "Print" to print the wedding invitations. Enter the number of copies into the "Number of Copies" box.
