Diy Pochette Invitations

You can make pochette invitations at home.

Pochette invitations are often called petal invitations, because the invitation is nestled inside an envelope with four sides that fold in like the petals of a closed flower. Pochette invitations are mostly used for formal affairs such as weddings but can be used for any type of party. Purchasing pochette invitations can be expensive, and you are limited by the colors available. If you prefer, you can make your own at home to save money and have more control over the finished look.

Instructions

1. Write or print your invitation on a 7-by-7-inch piece of paper. You can use stationary or vellum, in any color. You can free hand the invitation information or use a computer program. Another option is to use stamps or stencils to write out the invitation information.

2. Attach the invitation to the center of a 12-by-12-inch piece of card stock with craft glue or tape. Choose any color or pattern card stock you like. Turn the card stock so it is a diamond shape in front of you. Attach the invitation so it is a square in front of you. This will allow you to bend the edges of the card stock and form your petal shape.

3. Fold the corners of the card stock inward until they meet in the center. Crease the folds.

4. Apply a sticker where the four corners of the card stock meet. You can use any style sticker. Choose a sticker that is large enough to hold the four corners down.
