Activities In Kauai

Activities in Kauai

There are three main tourist areas on the Hawaiian Island of Kauai. The family resort area of Poipu is on the southeast side. Lihue is on the east coast and the North Shore. All three offer beautiful beaches and a host of activities including surfing and snorkeling.

Swimming

Your children can safely swim at Poipu Beach Park in southern Kauai. Lifeguards are on duty everyday. Puupoa Beach on the North Shore also offers shallow waters, perfect for young swimmers.

Surfing

If you don't know surf, take lessons at Hanalei Bay with Hawaiian Surfing Adventures. Experienced surfers may want to hang ten at popular surf beaches such as Brennecke's Beach near Poipu and Kaliliwai and Pali Ke Kua Beach on the North Shore.

Kayaking

You can kayak upstream on the Hanalei River from Puupoa Beach on the North Shore. Kayaking is the best way to experience Napali Coast on the west side of Kauai with its tall cliffs.

Snorkeling

Snorkel and Scuba diving are two of Hawaii's most popular activities. Tunnels Beach on the North Shore has an extensive coral reef. You can also snorkel at Poipu Beach Park.

Scuba Diving

Book a scuba diving excursion to the pristine waters of The Forbidden Island of Niihau with Blue Dolphin Charters by calling (877) 511-1311. You can also scuba at Tunnels Beach.

Hiking

See some of the best scenery on the Napali Coast featuring bluffs with cascading waterfalls and lush green valleys. Follow Kalalau Trail to Kalalau Valley for an adventure-filled hike.
